Mahesh Babu's 'Athidhi' has returned to theatres in a refreshed format. The Telugu action thriller made its comeback on May 29 through a new 4K version.

Fans gathered in large numbers at multiple locations to celebrate the film's return to the big screen. Popular theatres in Hyderabad reportedly witnessed packed shows.
As seen in the videos shared by fan pages, venues such as Sudarshan 35mm and Prasads became major hotspots for fans. Videos from screenings also showed cheering crowds and celebration moments inside theatres.
Reports suggested that Telugu advance sales across India touched around Rs 62 lakh. The film's worldwide opening estimates were also reported to be around Rs 97 lakh. Telangana and Andhra Pradesh reportedly played a major role in driving the collections. Overseas performance remained comparatively moderate.

Apart from the film's return, Mahesh Babu also grabbed attention through a public appearance on the same day. Videos of the actor at Mumbai's Kalina Airport quickly spread across social media.
Mahesh Babu was seen wearing an all-white outfit along with sunglasses and a white-and-blue cap.
One Twitter user wrote, "This wasn’t just a movie. This was a CELEBRATION" Another one wrote, "Manchi experience@AthidhiVibe."

'Athidhi' is a Telugu romantic action thriller directed by Surender Reddy. The film featured Mahesh Babu in the lead role alongside Amrita Rao, who made her Telugu debut through the movie. Murali Sharma and Ashish Vidyarthi also appeared in important roles.
The movie first released on October 18, 2007. It reportedly completed a 35-day theatrical run across nearly 400 cinemas and was later remade in Bangladesh as 'Durdhorsho Premik'.
