‘Kalinga blends history & mythology to create an immersive experience’

Actor Dhruva Vaayu is gearing up for the release of his concept-driven film Kalinga on September 13. In this ambitious project, Dhruva takes on the lead role and serves as the director and writer. “The film will transport the audience to another world,” he says. “The film beautifully blends history and mythology with elements of thrill and horror. We’ve created something the Telugu industry will be thrilled to witness.”

Though Dhruva always dreamed of becoming an actor, his venture into writing and directing happened unexpectedly. The film marks his second directorial effort. “I’ve always wanted to be an actor, but direction and writing came to me by chance. I’ve played supporting roles in films like Pelli Choopulu, Ghazi, and Terror but aspired to be a hero. So I thought, why not create my own story? Before Kalinga, I worked on a film called Kerosene, where I also took on multiple roles alongside producers Deepthi Kondaveeti and Pruthivi Yadav. It did well on OTT, so we decided to collaborate again.”
