Jr NTR congratulates Padma award winners: Actor says, 'What an incredible honour'

The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the Padma Awards 2026. Veteran actor Dharmendra was given the Padma Vibhushan after his death and Malayalam cinema legend Mammootty received the Padma Bhushan for his many years of great work in films.

Jr NTR shared a message congratulating all the winners. H took to X and wrote, “Heartiest congratulations to all the #PadmaAwards 2026 winners. What an incredible honour… A moment of pride as legend Dharmendra ji is conferred with the Padma Vibhushan. Very proud to see our Telugu cinema stalwarts Murali Mohan garu and Rajendra Prasad garu being conferred with the Padma Shri. Your contributions stand tall and timeless."



Jr NTR also congratulated Mammootty and R Madhavan. He wrote, “Congratulations to @mammukka sir on receiving the Padma Bhushan for inspiring generations through decades of remarkable work. @ActorMadhavan sir. a well-deserved recognition for your versatility and contribution to Indian cinema."

He ended his note by praising the cricketers and said, “And cheers to sports stars @ImRo45 & @ImHarmanpreet on their well-deserved Padma Shri. Your passion and excellence light up the nation… Jai Hind!"

Mammootty gets love from fellow stars

Mammootty’s Padma Bhushan win brought many emotional messages from film stars. Mohanlal Tweeted, "Ichakka absolutely delighted to know you’ve been conferred the Padma Bhushan. Heartfelt congratulations. Wishing you continued grace and glory."



Kamal Haasan wrote, “My dear friend Mammukka has been announced as a recipient of the Padma Bhushan award. We have never acted together. But for a long time we have maintained a ‘Kopperunchozhan Pisiranthayaar’ kind of friendship where we admire each other from a distance and also openly criticise each other. Now it feels like we should be meeting in person a little more often. As a Mammootty fan myself my wish is that my fans should also become his fans. Friend Mammootty has now become Padma Bhushan Mammootty. Congratulations to my friend.”

Manju Warrier wrote on social media, "Congratulations Mammookka! And Thank You for showing us how boundaries are broken and challenges are taken up with a smile! You're our pride, and one of a kind! @mammootty #padmabhushan And hearty congratulations to all the Padma Awardees!"

Actors R Madhavan, Murali Mohan, and Rajendra Prasad were honoured with the Padma Shri and cricketers Rohit Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur also received the Padma Shri. Late actor Satish Shah was honoured with the Padma Shri after his death.
