I love Malayalam movies for their colours: Daniela Zacherl

Daniela Zacherl aka Danny, the hip-hop and ballet dancer with a charming face and expressive eyes, is Lal Jose's latest find and the director is proud about it. "When she came for the audition I found that she has a face that can easily blend with the Malayali culture. No other foreign actresses had that appeal," recollects Lal Jose about the heroine of his upcoming flick Spanish Masala.
The 26-year-old actress from Austria who has acted in a couple of short films and music videos is an active theatre personality as well. But Spanish Masalais her first movie where she got to play the lead role. "I love Malayalam movies for their use of colours. Though I am used to musicals in Austria, I was fascinated by Malayalam movies where the whole story unfolds through melodious songs and dance sequences," she says.
Being an Austrian, Malayalam language was indeed a challenge for her. "Lal Jose and the crew were of great help," she says . Danny was pretty much familiar with her role, Cameila, even before the start of the shoot, which made things easier for her.
This fresh face intends to settle down in London to continue her active involvement in the film industry and even hopes to return to Mollywood one day. We're waiting!
