Director Haricharan has been a busy man, frequently jetsetting to Mumbai of late. Ask the director what he has up his sleeve and he says cautiously, Im firming up plans for my next project. Its an out-and-out comedy; two hours of non-stop fun. Titled Papanasathil Oru Nari, the director and his team have been burning the midnight oil, putting together the various elements.
Bollywood producer Umesh Mehra will produce the movie and the camera will be handled Madhu Ambat.
The movie is about the relationship between a Brahmin boy and a Narikuruva girl who are each running away from lifes troubles and meet up by chance. As they become unwitting victims of circumstance, they are forced to be friends. What ensues is a comedy of errors that embroils them in a mess. The story is about how they wriggle out of situations and by the end, they become thick friends, reveals the director.
Keeping his cards close to his chest, the Thoovanam director reveals, This film will be an ode to all comedians of the Tamil industry. Comedy has always been an integral part of Tamil cinema with greats like Nagesh, Cho, Thengai Srinivasan, Goundamani and Senthil leaving indelible marks on their audiences. The film will remind people of the great comedians of yesteryears as well as those from the present day.
The director says that so many comedians will be featured in the film, though none will have lengthy roles. But, every character has been etched out so well that even those who have short screen appearances will have lasting impacts. But the going hasnt been easy as getting even two comedians to come together is a mammoth task. Haricharan says that talks are on with the top trio Vivekh, Vadivelu and Santhanam. The movie will have three lead characters, two male and one female. Sampath has been confirmed as one of the leading characters and Piaa Bajpai has been short listed for the female lead, he says. He has also contacted maestro Ilaiyaraaja to compose music for the film.
