Nayanthara, the lady superstar of South Indian cinema, who made her silver screen debut in the year 2003 in Malayalam film Manassinakkare alongside Jayaram turns 36 today. Born as Diana Mariam Kurian, she is considered as one of the charismatic personalities in South. In her career span, the pretty Nayanthara has worked with all the leading actors of South like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Rajinikanth and Vijay, among others. One cannot admire her promising roles and performances in films. She is also one of the highest-paid actresses in the industry today. Directed by P Vasu, Nayanthara played the role of a dance teacher named Durga who falls in love with Kailash, a psychiatrist essayed by Rajinikanth. Nayanthara shot to fame with her impeccable acting skills in the movie which was one of the biggest hits of 2005. Bankrolled by Sivaji Productions, the movie also starred Prabhu, Jyothika, Vadivelu, Nassar, Vineeth, Vijaykumar, Sheela and KR Vijaya in pivotal roles.

In the VV Vinayaka directed-film, Nayanthara essayed the role of a young woman nagged Nandhini who lives with his mother in Kolkata threatens by a don named Rayudu. Lakshmi Nayarana played by Venkatesh comes to the rescue of Nadhini and the rest is history. The action entertainer was a huge hit and Nayanthara was lauded for her performance in the film. Bankrolled by Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Productions, the film also featured Charmme Kaur, Pradeep Rawat, Sayaji Shinde, Ranganath, Sharwanand and Rajiv Kanakala in key roles.

Nayanthara played the role of a cute girl next door in the film Tulasi. She received a lot of appreciation for the portrayal of an angry, insecure yet charming woman in the film who falls in love with Venkatesh’s character in the film. Bankrolled by Suresh Productions, Tulasi was a superhit and the music of the film, composed by Devi Sri Prasad, was also praised by movie buffs. Master Atulith, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rahul Dev, Vijaykumar, Sivaji, Ali and Ramya Krishnan among others also part of the cast.

Nayanthara won the hearts of audiences with her commendable performance in the Boayapati Srinu directorial, which focuses more on Nandamuri Balakrishna’s character. However, Nayanthara had a vital role in the film and she gave her best it making it quite appealing. The movie remains one of Nayan's biggest commercial hits. Balayya and Nayanthara’s chemistry was admired by cine-goers and their pairing became an absolute favourite. The music of the film was late Chakri.

Her intense and mature chemistry with Nandamuri Balakrishna was amazing and she even won Nandi Award for the same. It was directed by Bapu and produced by Sri Saibaba Movies. It is also considered as Balayya and Nayanthara’s one of the best films together. She looked very beautiful and received a lot of accolades for her performances in the film.

Directed by Surender Reddy, Nayanthara plays the role of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy’s wife, Siddhamma in the biopic. She is always supportive of his rebellion freedom fighter husband Narasimha Reddy. As Siddhamma, Nayanthara starred opposite Chiranjeevi and this movie will be etched in our hearts forever. She received immense appreciation for her performance as well as an avatar in the movie.
