Since childhood, everybody has been calling him Tarak as he was named after his legendary grandfather Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. So, Tarak is the first name he got from his grandpa. ​Chid artist

Jr NTR first appeared as a child artiste in grandpa Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s 'Brahmarshi Vishwamitra' (1991). Later, he starred in filmmaker Gunasekhar’s Bala 'Ramayanam' as a child artist. He played the titular role in the mythological drama which received the National Film Award for Best Children's Film and two Nandi Awards. As an adult, his first feature film was 'Ninnu Choodalani' (2001).

SS Rajamouli’s directorial debut 'Student No 1', which won worldwide acclaim on release in 2001, was the film that changed Jr NTR’s life. ​'Andhrawala' audio function

Jr NTR’s 'Andhrawala' grand audio function event was not short of a festival for the actor’s fans. The event was a happy occasion that saw the film’s entire cast and crew. A sea of people thronged Nimmarkuru, on December 5, 2003, to witness what is most likely to be the biggest film event of the year in Telugu cinema. According to the reports, Indian railways ran ten special trains to take nearly 10 lakh people to the launch event.

​Japan fan following

Superstar Jr NTR has a cult following in Japan. It all started in 2013 when the actor’s hit film hit 'Baadshah' was released in Japan. Jr NTR is one among the few Tollywood actors to feature on Forbes India's Celebrity List twice, in 2012 and 2016. While the actor's rank has witnessed a drop from first year, he is the only actor from Tollywood to feature in the Top 100 list. Undoubtedly, Tarak is one of the bankable actors of Tollywood.

Jr NTR is a follower of numerology. The actor was born on May 19 in 1983 in Hyderabad. It is no secret that Tarak loves the number 9 and considers it quite lucky for him. Not to forget, the actor's BMW 7 series car license plate number is 9999 for which he paid INR 10.5 lakh. In fact, 9999 number that Tarak has on all of his cars. If sources are to be believed, he insists his associates to have the same number.

Jr NTR is a multi-faceted personality and is familiar with most of the things if not all when it comes to cinema. For the unversed, Tarak is also a good singer. He recorded his first Telugu song in 2007 for his movie 'Yamadonga'. The dance number "Olammi Thikka Regindha" was composed by MM Keeravani. Since then, he has not turned back and sung superhit songs like "1,2,3 Nenoka Kantri" in 'Kantri', "Chary" in 'Adhurs', "Sri Anjaneyam" in 'Oosaravelli', "Raakasi Raakasi" in 'Rabhasa', "Follow Follow" in 'Naanaku Prematho' and "Geleya Geleya" in Puneeth Rajkumar’s 'Chakravyuha.'
