Actor Anjala Zaveri turns a year older today on April 20. The actor went on a long sabbatical after her wedding to actor Tarun Arora. Anjala was at the peak of her career when she decided to get married. From her mesmerising beauty to her mind-blowing on-screen performances, Anjala is the perfect package that has graced T-Town. Having started her journey in the Hindi film industry in 1997 with Himalay Putra, Anjala has also starred in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada language films and has carved out her own identity as a talented artist. Preminchukundam Raa
Anjala Zaveri’s debut film alongside Victory Venkatesh turned out to be a massive success for the actress who entered Tollywood with no connections. The actress has been loved for her performance as Kaveri. Her chemistry with Venkatesh is the highlight of the film. The actress' performance was quite seamless, and she has been nominated Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu. Directed by Jayanth C Paranjee, the film remained one of the most iconic love stories made in Tollywood.

Choodalani Vundi
After starring in a couple of Hindi films and a Tamil film, Anjala Zaveri came back to Tollywood with the Gunasekhar directorial film Choodalani Vundi which went on to become a runaway hit. Starring alongside megastar Chiranjeevi, Anjala held her own in the film and demanded attention every time she appeared on the screen. She played the role of a billionaire’s kid Priya who runs away from home with optimum ease and comfort. Anjala nailed the character with her mind-blowing acting and great screen presence.

Samarasimha Reddy
Soon after Choodalani Vundi’s success, several opportunities came Anjala’s way and the actress made the most of it. In 1999, director B Gopal cast Anjala as the vengeful Anjali in Samarasimha Reddy,and the film went on to become a trendsetter in Tollywood and achieved cult status. She has proved that she is one of the most versatile actresses and has been very impressive as Anjali. Anjala incredibly handled the character transformation from a pretty girl looking for love to a vengeful woman.

Ravoyi Chandamama
In the same year came Jayanth C Paranjee’s Ravoyi Chandamama in which Anjala Zaveri essayed the character of Meghana, a US-educated girl who falls in love with a popular Telugu pop singer. The actress carried responsibility as well with this project. Starring alongside Akkineni Nagarjuna, Anjala’s cute role as Meghana, who struggles to marry the pop singer Sashi stood out in an otherwise not-so-widely appreciated film. Mani Sharma did a great job in creating beautiful music for the film.

Devi Putrudu
Anjala Zaveri’s beautiful and honest performance as Satyavati added flair to the character and the film as well. Collaborating with Venkatesh Daggubati once again, she is on her way to search for her missing elder sister Karuna. Anjala’s performance in the Kodi Ramakrishna directorial received critical acclaim from all quarters. Even though she did not have a lot of screen time, she still managed to leave a lasting mark. The film's songs have gained cult status over time.
