A Kodandarami Reddy is one of the best filmmakers of Tollywood who have given many blockbuster films. Born on July 1, 1950, in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, Kodandarami Reddy turns 71 today. The award-winning director started his career in 1980 by directing Sandhya in the Telugu film industry. At the time, Kodandarami Reddy and Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi made a hit director-actor pair who gave mind-blowing hits together. Khaidi
This film was one of the greatest action dramas of the 1980s in Telugu cinema. The film features Chiranjeevi, Madhavi and Rao Gopal Rao with many more. The success of this commercial film changed Chiru’s on-screen persona into an action hero. Until then the actor was performing the boy-next-door roles. Khaidiwas considered a turning point in Chiranjeevi’s career. The film was one of the best in Kodandarami Reddy’s direction.

Abhilasha
The 1983 thriller starred Chiranjeevi and Radhika in lead roles. Abhilasha is one of the best films of Kodandarami Reddy. Though it was based on a novel written by Yandamuri Veerendranath, Reddy had shown his calibre by giving a unique touch to his storytelling. The move has got critical acclaim and went on to become a blockbuster. One cannot forget the actor Chiranjeevi’s remarkable performance as a young lawyer who strives to end capital punishment in India gets himself engaged in a murder case.

This 1984 drama star Chiranjeevi in the main role, he plays the character of a man with great intellect. The acting and chemistry are the highlights of the picture, but the entire narrative and conversations are solid. Challengeis an awe-inspiring and thought-provoking film that has withstood the test of time and continues to delight audiences. Also starring Vijayashanti, Suhasini and Rao Gopal Rao, the film was commercially successful.

Muta Mestri
Muta Mestri is a 1993 film directed by A Kodandarami Reddy starring Chiranjeevi, Meena and Roja in lead roles. A Filmfare Award for Best Actor was won by Chiru for his performance as a vegetable seller who becomes a Chief Minister of the state. Muta Mestri received many accolades for the direction and excellent performances given by the actors. Probably the film best thing about the film was its music by Raj-Koti.

Kondaveeti Donga
Kondaveeti Donga is a 1990 blockbuster starring Chiranjeevi, Vijayashanthi and Radha in lead roles. The film revolves around a man who returns to his village sees his people made to suffer by vandals. To decide to help them, he assumes the role of a local folk hero and sets out to exact punishment on the criminals. Considered one of the best commercial films even today, the Kodandarami Reddy directorial film went on to be one of the biggest commercial hits in the actor’s career.
