The makers of the highly-anticipated NTR biopic including director Krish and Nandamuri Balakrishna are leaving no stone unturned to rope in the perfect and suitable cast. Set to release in two parts titled ‘Kathanayakudu’ & ‘Mahanayakudu’, the big-budget film features prominent actors of Indian cinema, reprising the roles of renowned personalities which had a notable relationship with Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao (NTR). While the film part has almost been wrapped up, the makers are currently filming crucial scenes in NTR’s political journey.

While Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is portraying the role of Basavatarakam, several Tollywood beauties like Rakul Preet, Nitya Menen, Anushka, Hansika, Eesha Rebba are playing pivotal cameos in this biopic. Peep down below for the full list.

VIDYA BALAN as NTR’s wife Basavatarakam

Bollywood versatile actress Vidya Balan has been unanimously voted by Balakrishna and Krish as the ideal personality to depict the crucial role of NTR’s wife Basavatarakam. The 39-year-old diva even shared her on-screen avatar as the housewife dressed in a traditional saree. She looked every bit like a typical married woman with flowers in her hair, a bindi and some jewellery. Vidya revealed that her portrayal of Basavatarakam is based on a bit of information and a lot of imagination.

NITHYA MENEN as Savitri

The first look of Nitya Menen as the legendary actress Savitri was dropped by the makers on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. The released poster is a magical moment from the famous ‘Lechindi Nidra Lechindi Mahila Lokam’ in the evergreen hit film ‘Gundamma Katha’. The Bengaluru beauty perfectly fitted the bill as Savitri with her expressive face and a housewife-next-door personality. Initially, the makers thought of roping in Keerthy Suresh who played the same role in ‘Mahanati’. But, citing dating issues, the Tamil beauty backed off and Nitya Menen joined in.

RAKUL PREET SINGH as Sridevi

On her 28th birthday, the first look poster of Rakul Preet Singh as the late-legendary actress Sridevi has been unveiled. The Punjabi diva matched the appearance of the great actress in terms of her vibrant smile and trademark expression. The second posture of Rakul matching steps with Balakrishna in the iconic rain song Aaku Chatu Pinde Tadise also released to a fabulous response from netizens. Both the actors posed a striking resemblance to Senior NTR and Sridevi in the superhit number from the 1979 blockbuster film ‘Vetagadu’.

ANUSHKA SHETTY as B. Saroja Devi

If the on-going buzz is true, ‘Baahubali’ beauty Anushka Shetty has given her nod to reprise one of Indian cinema’s most-successful heroines, B. Saroja Devi in NTR biopic. Considered as the best pair on the Telugu celluloid, NTR and Saroja Devi acted in several path-breaking films like 'Sri Ramanjaneya Yuddham', 'Jagadeeka Veeruni Katha' and 'Dana Veera Sura Karna'. The ‘Bhaagamathie’ bombshell will join the shoot once she returns from her foreign trip.

SHALINI PANDEY as Sowcar Janaki

‘Arjun Reddy’ fame Shalini Pandey is depicting the interesting role of yesteryear actress Sowcar Janaki in the first part of NTR biopic titled ‘Kathanayakudu’. Rumoured sources reveal that the 25-year-old has already wrapped up her shooting portion in a specially-erected set at Annapurna Studios. She is also playing the female lead opposite Kalyan Ram in his upcoming thriller ‘118’.

HANSIKA as Jaya Prada

Krish & Co have brought the gorgeous Hansika Motwani to reprise the role of evergreen glamour-queen Jaya Prada. The hit pair of Telugu cinema has shared screen-space in successful films like ‘Adavi Ramudu’, ‘Challenge Ramudu’ and Yamagola. Initially, Tamannaah was considered for the role, but at the last moment, the 27-year-old Mumbai beauty joined in.

MALAVIKA NAIR as Krishna Kumari

Considered as the hit pair in the golden era, the late legendary heroine Krishna Kumari has starred opposite Senior NTR in a total of 25 films. Their on-screen chemistry and acting prowess won huge applause from the viewers. Meanwhile, ‘Taxiwaala’ beauty Malavika Nair is playing the role of this yesteryear diva in NTR biopic. This specific role is touted to be a special one in the film.

PAYAL RAJPUT as Jayasudha

This 28-year-old belle who impressed one & all with her brilliant portrayal in ‘RX 100’ is stepping into the shoes of talented actress Jayasudha in the most-awaited NTR biopic. The makers felt that Payal Rajput has the prerequisite looks and body language to emulate Jayasudha on the silver screen. She is all set to join the shoot pretty soon.

MANJIMA MOHAN as Nara Bhuvaneshwari

It’s already known that ‘Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo’ beauty Manjima Mohan is essaying the pivotal role of Nara Bhuvaneshwari in NTR biopic. Bhuvaneshwari is one among the four daughters of Nandamuri Taraka Rao, and wife of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Jointly produced by Balayya, Vishnu Induri, and Sai Korrapati, the MM Keeravani musical is slated for a 2019 Sankranthi release.
