Divyansha Kaushik opens up on playing a grey-shaded character in Sundeep Kishan's 'Michael' - Exclusive!
When she was asked about getting an opportunity to play the female lead in 'Michael', she said, ''Sundeep and I have known each other since the days of 'Majili'. We both were trained by the same gym trainer. We always wanted to do a film together. When I was in Hyderabad, Ranjit sir narrated 'Michael's script to me. I immediately accepted his offer, as I felt that I was an apt candidate for this role.''
Talking about her role the actress further said, ''It’s unfair to say that I am Michael’s love interest because my character is just not like a pretty girl or a heroine or a girl-next-door type. There are so many shades in my character. In fact, I am playing a grey-shaded character, which is a completely different thing. Ranjit sir's writing style for women is extremely unique. It's neither a good nor bad role, it's like a mix of both. But, ultimately, you will like her and fall in love with her.''
Divyansha shared her experience working with Sundeep Kishan in 'Michael'. ''We had lots of fun on the sets of Michael. We did many intense action sequences and performed several romantic scenes. The whole credit goes to Sundeep for taking care of the things on the set. He was very friendly during the shooting schedules. He used to help me with understanding Telugu, and he used to bring healthy foods while on the sets. He is really a nice guy,'' recalled the actress.
The actress opened up about working with director Ranjit Jeyakodi. ''Ranjit sir is a wonderful person. He was calm and composed on the sets. And I never saw him shouting at anybody. The vision he had for the film was great. He is very progressive in his way of thinking. The way he talks about women is empowering and inspiring,'' she heaped praise on him.
