Adivi Sesh starrer Major's release date postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic

The release date of Sashi Kiran Tikka’s Adivi Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar, Prakash Raj, Revathi, Murli Sharma starrer Major stands postponed.
Announcing the same on social media, Adivi Sesh wrote, “#ReleaseDay of #MajorTheFilm will be my PROUDEST moment. So Let's celebrate when times get better. Safer. Maamulga undadhu. I Promise #JaiHind.” (sic) Sesh will play the role of decorated NSG commando Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the 26/11 martyr in the film.

The makers had initially planned for Major to hit screens not just in Telugu but also Hindi and Malayalam on July 2, however due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the film stands postponed. “We are living in unprecedented times and we hope you are following all the safety protocols and staying safe. We would like to announce that Major, which was originally scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 2nd July, is now postponed to a later date. We will announce the new theatrical release date in the days to come once things get back to normal. Times are tough but so are we,” reads the statement of team Major.
Major does not just show how Major Sandeep rescued hostages during the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai and lost his life, it also traces his inspirational journey. The film is produced by Sony Pictures Films India in association with Mahesh Babu's GMB Entertainment and A+S movies.
