This 1977 Hindu Mythological movie co-written, produced, directed and edited by NT Rama Rao is based on the life of Karna from Mahabharata and stars NTR in three roles. In the character of Duryodhana, Krishna and Karna. The film was not just a critically acclaimed film but was one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of its time and is regarded as one of the greatest Telugu films of all time for its monologues and dialogues penned by Kondaveeti Venkata Kavi, it is of 3.46 hrs of duration in time.

Lavakusa is again a Hindu mythological film directed by C.S. Rao and his father C.Pullayya. The film was scripted by Sadasiva Brahmam and Samudrala Sr was also the first full-length colour film in Telugu cinema. The film has an ensemble star cast from Tollywood and was jointly directed by C.Pullayya and C.S.Rao which has a screen time of over 3.28 hrs. The film is said to be based on Uttara Ramayana and its music was composed by Ghantasala.

This 1965 Hindu mythological film that has NT Rama Rao playing the lead role again with Savitri as the lady lead has its music composed by Ghantasala. The film is directed by Kamalakara Kameswara Rao which has a screen time of over 198 mins which is 3.18 hrs and was a major box-office success that ran for over 175 days in theatres those days.

Pathala Bhairavi is an Indian fantasy film that was Co-written and directed by KV Reddy and starring NT. Rama Rao and S.V. Ranga Rao in the lead roles. The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil languages which has a screen time of over 195 mins which is 3.15 hrs. The film tells the story of a gardener’s son who has to amass the wealth equal to the king of Ujjain to marry his daughter and the rest of the story is all about the hurdles that the hero faces to access the statuette which can grant him any wish.

This is a biographical action drama film by V. Ramachandra Rao and it was written by Tripuraneni Maharadhi. The film stars Krishna, Vijaya Nirmala and Jaggayya in the key roles that mark the 100th film of Krishna’s home banner Padmalaya Studios. The film that talked about the Rampa Rebellion of 1922 is over 187 mins duration which is 3.07 hrs in duration.

Yet another epic Hindu mythological film by KV Reddy is produced by Nagi Reddy and Chakrapani was shot simultaneously as a Telugu-Tamil bilingual film that revolves around the roles of Krisha (NTR) and Ghatotkacha (SV Ranga Rao) and they try to reunite Arjuna’s son Abhimanyu (ANR) and his love Balarama’s daughter (Savitri).

The film is over 184 mins duration in Telugu which is 3.04 hrs long for the audience to watch in theatres.

SS.Rajamouli’s epic action drama film ‘RRR’ tells the story of fictional versions of two Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem and their fight against the British Raj. The Pan-India film that has an ensemble star cast is written by V.Vijayendra Prasad and its music was composed by MM. Keeravani also went on to receive the Academy Award for its musical composition of Naatu Naatu song along with its lyric writer Chandrabose.

The 2017 Telugu romantic drama film written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga under his home banner Bhadrakali Pictures stars Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey playing important roles in the film.

The film tells the story of a highly alcoholic surgeon who has anger issues and is on a self-destructive path after the marriage of his girlfriend Preethi. The successful film which went on to be remade in multiple languages is 182 mins in length which is 3.02 hrs.

This 1955 romantic comedy film directed by LV Prasad was produced by Nagi Reddy and Chakrapani under their Vijaya Productions Banner. The film starred NTR Rama Rao, ANR, Savitri and Jamuna playing the lead roles that are said to be adapted from the Bengali play ‘Manmoyee Girls School’. This ever-green film that was later remade into several Indian languages is over 181 mins in duration which is 3.01 hrs for the audience to watch in Theaters.

The 2010 film ‘Prasthanam’ is a Hindi political action drama film directed by Deva Katta. The film was also dubbed in Tamil as ‘Padhavi’ which has over 181 mins of screen time which is 3.01 hrs that also made Sundeep Kishan’s acting debut in Telugu cinema. The film stars Sharwanand, Sai Kumar and Ruby Parihar its music was composed by Mahesh Shankar and the film was edited by Dharmendra Kakarla and is regarded as one of the greatest films of the decade by Film Companion.

This Telugu romantic comedy-drama film that was written by Trivikram Srinivas and directed by K. Vijaya Bhaskar starred Venkatesh and Aarthi Agarwal in the lead roles. Last but not least, the Pan-India film ‘Adipurush’ is said to be over 2:59 hrs duration, though this time is also not enough to tell the complete epic of Ramayana that has several sub-plots within the main plot, such run time is not new to the Telugu audience or to the Indian audience if the content is well narrated with a gripping screenplay.
