8 Probable reasons why 'Adipurush' actor Prabhas's movies aren’t successful after the Baahubali franchise

Prabhas is currently the highest-paid Pan-India star in Indian cinema, and he is the only star actor who has had several Pan-India films in a decade, all of which were made for Rs 100–500 crores or more. Thanks to SS. Rajamouli and his Baahubali franchise, Prabhas became an unbeaten star in India. But his films after ‘Baahubali’ are taking his graphing down one after the other. Prabha's ‘Baahubali, directed by SS Rajamouli, was also aggressively promoted and overhyped, but it stood by its hype. The film pleased and entertained the fans in every possible way, and that also raised his box-office collections and brought him several Pan-India films. The same was not the case with other films done by Prabhas.

Prabhas seems to have a weaker hand when it comes to picking the scripts; a lack of inspiration or knack to foresee the outcome of a subject is making Prabhas sign all the films that come his way. Most of the films that bombed at the box office recently were Pan-India films of his made with humongous budgets, but they fell flat at the box office for their lack of exciting content and execution.

Not all filmmakers are adept at creating content in every genre; even the most renowned ones would have specialities in some of them. When it came to periods or historical dramas, SS. Rajamouli had a superb hand at crafting shots. However, he might not make the same case if he is asked to direct a horror movie. Similarly, Prabhas’s wrong choice of directors can be considered as one of the reasons his films flopped at the box office.

Ever since Baahubali was successful at the box office, all his next films heavily relied on computer-generated graphics. If a few of them gave an artificial feel and a few of them led the films to troll, such as Sahoo and Adipurush, Several scenes in Adipurush' are trolled for their fake settings and artificial feel for emotional content like the Ramayana.

Prabhas is a massive cutout who works well in big-budget films, but he might not be right for other parts that call for a decent and slender man. Because of his appearance and hairdo, his films are frequently the target of online trolls in these situations. As a result, he might need to choose a few roles more carefully.

Soon after his gigantic ‘Baahubali’ became a Pan-India success, audiences were also expecting a similar kind of stuff from him that would be an edge-of-the-seat extravaganza. But when he tries films like ‘Adipurush, they are comparing him to the yesteryear's Golden Content and criticising him for his film’s writing, appearances, dialogues, and other crafts.

Prabhas is the only Indian actor who has been doing back-to-back gigantic Pan-India films within a short span. If you take his ‘Baahubali’ franchise, SS. Rajamouli spent 5-7 years making one good film. Where the same is not the case with other filmmakers. They are quickly winding it up with VFX, dupes, and other technology, which is not going well with the moviegoers.

Though Prabhas is doing films with different storylines, most of them are either formulaic or predictable. Adipurush's story has been known for decades; Billa was a remake; Sahoo was a half-cooked gangster film with an old plot; and this kind of content is not working for the audience or in his favour.
