Talking about 'Anandam,' the film tells the story of Kiran and Aishwarya who are neighbours for twenty years hate each other immensely. Aishwarya founds an unopened greeting card addressed to Deepika when she shifted to Ooty from Hyderabad. Aishwarya comes to know that Deepika who stayed in their house in the past commits suicide because her lover Vamsi did not return after going to Hyderabad. They both write letters to each other in the name of Vamsi and Deepika. When they get to know the truth, they find love in them.

Bankrolled by Ramoji Rao under Ushakiran Movies, Anandam turned out to be a monster success at the box office primarily because of its chart-topping numbers such as "Anandam", "Kanulu Terichinna", "Evarina Epudaina", and "Premante Emitante". The film catapulted music director Devi Sri Prasad to the pinnacle of popularity. His amazing music and Sameer Reddy’s choreography are still fresh in our minds and hearts.
