Roshan Meka starrer sports action drama ‘Champion’ was released on Christmas and the film is enjoying a decent run at the box office. Directed by Pradeep Advaitham, the film also features Anaswara Rajan as the female lead and has collected over Rs 1.50 crore amid the festive box office window.As per trade analyst Sacnilk, ‘Champion’ collected over Rs 2.75 crore on the first day and then went on to make Rs 1.50 crore. This brings the total collection to Rs 4.25 crore in two days.

Speaking of the film’s overall occupancy, it recorded an occupancy of 24.38% on the opening day. The morning started with a lower occupancy at 15.58%. It then increased to 25.94% and had a similar record during the evening shows, which were at 25.97%. Lastly, the night shows recorded 30.02%.

About ‘Champion’

Directed by Pradeep Advaitham, the film is about the character Michael B Williams, who is seen as a talented footballer and wants to play for Manchester in England. However, coming from Secundrabad, the journey is not an easy one. He finds himself entangled in arms smuggling and ends up in Bhairanpally village, resisting Razakar atrocities. There he falls in for Chandrakala, played by Anaswara Rajan.
