Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’ was released on December 12th. The movie keeps raking in decent numbers at the box office, completing ten days. Early reports suggest that on Sunday, the film made over Rs 3.40 crore.
As per a report by trade analyst Sacnilk, the movie is enjoying a stable run at the box office. After a week of a successful run, it had made over Rs 76.75 crore. Later on the film’s second Friday, it made over Rs 1.7 crore, it then collected Rs 2.55 crore on Saturday. On Sunday, the film also minted 3.40 crore, which now brings the total to Rs 84.40 crore. This means that the film, during its second weekend, minted a total of Rs 7.65 crore.
‘Akhanda 2’ theatrical occupancy
Talking about the film’s occupancy, the movie had an overall 37.74% Telugu occupancy on Sunday. It recorded over 22.80% occupancy in the morning, which later increased to 46.65%. Later, the evening shows peaked at 51.75% and the night shows were at 29.74%.
About ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’
Speaking about the film, it is the sequel to the 2021 Balakrishna starrer blockbuster ‘Akhanda’. The movie shows the veteran Tollywood actor playing a dual role as a spiritual warrior and action hero. The film is directed by Boyapati Sreenu and includes mass tropes with Boya-style shenanigans, revenge, and spiritual battles.
The movie stars Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshaali Malhotra, Kabir Duhan Singh and Saswata Chatterjee in key roles.
Social media review
Earlier social media reactions showed fans celebrating Balakrishna’s energy in the dual role. They lauded the film’s explosive action, thunderous climax, and Thaman's BGM, calling it "paisa vasool" for mass lovers. However, the movie also received mixed responses due to its weak script and over the top momoents.
