Lakshmi to attend Hollywood premiere of Basmathi Blues

Actress Manchu Lakshmi has played a full-length role of an Indian farmer in the Hollywood film Basmathi Blues which is releasing on February 9. It stars Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson and Utkarsh Ambudkar in lead roles with Scott Bakula, Donald Sutherland, Laksmi Manchu and Tyne Daly in major supporting roles. The film is a romantic comedy/musical directed by Dan Baron, in his directorial debut from a screenplay by Baron and Jeff Dorchen. A special preview of the film is being held in the US this week and Lakshmi Manchu will be in attendance. The actress will also be in the US from Feb 10 to Feb 24 where she will be interacting with Telugu audiences and discussing her upcoming projects, social outreach programmes and other promotional activities. On the home front, Lakshmi will next be seen in her untitled home-production, a thriller which also features Bigg Boss finalist Aadarsh Balakrishna in a pivotal role.
