Jagan, who made Raman Thediya Seethai, has now directed the film En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom, which stars
Anandhi and Tamizh (formerly known as Pandi in Pasanga). Talking about the unique title, the director says, “That is exactly the one-line of my film. The heroine’s slippers go missing and the hero goes in search of them. The events that happen during his ‘journey’ and the people he come across during this search is what the film is all about.”
Jagan calls the film a feel-good romcom and reveals that he has shot the entire film in the rain.
“The story happens during the monsoon, and we have shot in both actual rain and filmi rain,” he adds.
The director has introduced a new composer, Ishaan Dev in the film. “I found him on a Malayalam music channel. His music has a sound that is both melodious and new-age. Impressed with the music, Gautham Menon has released the film under his label. That should tell you of his calibre,” he says.
Interestingly, Simbu has sung a song in the film called Seruppu Song. “The song is a biography of a slipper, written by Vijay Sagar. The word slipper is mentioned 90 times in the song, but in an endearing way; it will never make the listener cringe,” he assures.
