Impressive trailer

Few delays and a lot of speculation la, the release date of Dhanush’s ‘Thodari’ was finalised as September 22. Now, as the big day is nearing, the excitement among the actor’s fans is skyrocketing. However, if you are wondering whether or not it is worth watching then here are 5 solid reasons why you should.

Impressive trailer

Usually, a trailer is enough to judge how a film is going to be and trailer of ‘Thodari’was simply spectacular. It had all the right elements to make a commercially successful thriller. It had plenty of comedy from Dhanush and Thambi Ramaiah, a promising romance track between the two leads, tense hostage situations and brilliant looking stunts on top of a train moving at high speed. Well, the movie will obviously have more of what was shown in the trailer, so if you liked the trailer, you are on board with the movie.

Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh combo

Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh combo

Another reason to be really excited about ‘Thodari’ is the pairing of Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh. The two will be seen together on-screen for the very first time, so there is some unique chemistry to look forward to. On top of that, Dhanush is an amazing and established actor, but Keerthy Suresh too shows a lot of promise in the acting department. She was amazing in ‘Nenu Sailaja’ and ‘Rajinimurugan’ and hopefully, will up her game with ‘Thodari’.

Director Prabhu Solomon

Director Prabhu Solomon

Prabhu Solomon has been a part of Kollywood for quite some time but gained prominence only after 2010. He has given two highly successful films over the last few years- ‘Mynaa’ and ‘Kumki’. Both the movies had a really unique story which was also laced with some dark cynicism. Prabhu is an expert in showing the grim side of life and there is a high probability that ‘Thodari’ too will have a similar treatment. In a time of happy endings, it will be refreshing to see some sense of realism in movies.

Similarity to iconic movies

Similarity to iconic movies

Movies based on fast moving vehicles and trains have always been received well by the audience. ‘Thodari’ reminds us in many ways of movies like ‘Speed’ and ‘Unstoppable’ or when you look at Bollywood, it is somewhat similar to Burning Train. There is something about such high-octane thrillers that really fascinates people. With helicopter chases, fights with commandos on top of the train, jumping from one compartment to another and a super tense hostage situation, ‘Thodari’ promises to be the perfect action thriller and could become India’s answer to similar Hollywood movies.

D Imman’s music

D Imman’s music

Great music is still very crucial for a film’s success. If the album is good then the battle is half won. ‘Thodari’ has nothing to worry about in the music department as it has a solid five track album from composer D Imman, who is known for his consistency. Songs like ‘Adada Idhuyenna’, ‘Pona Usuru’ and the title track are already super popular among the crowd. So with a solid story, a good melodic album, helmed by such a reliable director, nothing can go wrong.
