Reacting to the kiss scene in 'Love Story' during a 2021 interview with Gulta, Sai Pallavi clarified that, “I never do kissing scenes. It is against my policy. In that scene, too, Naga Chaitanya did not kiss me. It looked real because of the cameraman’s angle.” This cleared up the confusion that fans had about Sai Pallavi breaking her rule.

Further, Sai Pallavi, who emphasized her stance, said, “I had clearly stated this rule to director Shekhar Kammula earlier. He never pressured me. In fact, if the character is well written, the actor's performance is automatically good. The lack of a kissing scene does not diminish the emotion of the scene," she said.
