The actress says she enjoyed playing Trichy ponnu in Engaeyum EppodhumNo, dont get us wrong; its not that actress
Ananya has changed her name or something. Its just that the character she plays in her upcoming release Engaeyum Eppodhum Amudha seems to have caught her attention a lot.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing Amudha, says the actress, Shes a calm and quiet girl, very different from the character I played in Nadodigal.
In Engaeyum Eppodhum, her character is that of a typical Trichy ponnu who is new to the city.
Im new to Chennai and so, I had to pull a wide range of expressions that showcase fear and tension. In the Govinda Govinda... song, I had to look lost and Im glad now that it has come out well, she states.
So, if we ask her to speak in the Trichy slang now, will she be able to pull it off ? I dont know that, she laughs, During the filming of the movie, I just said my dialogues as instructed by the director.
Though there are three other important characters in the film (played by Jai, Anjali and Sharvanand), Ananyas scenes had her sharing screen space with Sharvanand. Hes done several movies in Telugu. It was great working with him. For a couple of days, while we were shooting in the same locations, all the four of us were together and it was great fun. Though Ive done a multistarrer in Malayalam before, this is my first multi-starrer in Tamil and I truly enjoyed doing it, she signs off.
