Vishal on why he’s donning the khakhi back-to-back in his films
Among the roles that Vishal has played on screen, his khakhi avatar in films like Sathyam, Vedi, Paayum Puli, Irumbu Thirai, Ayogya and Action have been received well by the audience. In fact, the actor played a cop or military personnel consecutively in his films Irumbu Thirai, Ayogya and Action. And in his upcoming film Chakra, he plays someone who is from a covert military unit.
Ask Vishal what’s with him and the uniform, and he says with a laugh, “It just happened.

I didn’t plan it to be like that, but it happened. Not that I’m tired of it. I wore the uniform in Action and then, immediately Chakra happened. So, it’s one after the other.”
Chakra, directed by debutant Anandan, also stars Shraddha Srinath and Regina Cassandra. Vishal adds, “The reason why the film is called Chakra is because it’s based on Ashoka Chakra. The hero is in search of the medal that belonged to his dad. Many thought it was Irumbu Thirai sequel, but it’s not. But thematically, while that film spoke about hacking phones, this one will raise an important question – what if we told you your life is hacked?”
Apart from Chakra, Vishal is also working on Thupparivalan 2, which he will be directing as well. Rumours of him reuniting with Sundar C after Action are also doing the rounds.
