Vikram Prabhu breaks down at ‘Sirai’ success meet: 'A proud moment beyond my father’s legacy'

Actor Vikram Prabhu shared an emotional speech at the success event of his film 'Sirai,' which was directed by Suresh Rajkumari. The event was held in Chennai to celebrate the film completing 75 days in theatres and receiving strong appreciation from audiences. During the function, Vikram Prabhu expressed happiness about the film’s journey and the recognition it has received. He said it was a proud moment to see the team’s hard work being celebrated on stage with awards and appreciation. The actor also shared that such moments remind him why cinema remains a meaningful and emotional journey for him.

As per News 18, he recalled attending award ceremonies earlier in his life when his father Prabhu, was honoured. However, he said that watching a film in which he acted receive so many recognitions felt very special. According to him, the moment carried a personal emotional value because it showed how far his journey in cinema has come. The actor added that such recognition is not just about one individual but about the entire team that worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the film successful.

‘Sirai’ is proof of strong teamwork

Vikram Prabhu also stressed that the success of ‘Sirai’ was purely the result of teamwork. He said every person involved in the project worked with dedication and treated the film like a part of their own lives. The technicians, as well as the cast, played their parts equally in depicting the story. He also thanked the film’s producer Lalit Kumar for supporting the project and believing in the team. The actor further noted that the film holds special importance in his career as it marks his 25th movie, making the success even more meaningful for him.

'Sirai' actor looks ahead after a long learning journey

Reflecting on his career, Vikram Prabhu said he grew up with the identity of being the son and grandson of actors, which sometimes made him feel different during his younger days. He confessed to sometimes trying to sidestep the weight of that pressure, though he gained a clearer understanding of himself during his time in the States. Upon returning to India, he resolved to take cinema seriously, forging his own course. His first film, 'Kumki,' was a resounding success, yet it also ushered in a wave of expectations and hurdles.
