Vijayakanth extends financial support for 'Engal Aasan' director Velumani's family

Vijayakanth was one of the leading heroes in Tamil between the 1980s and 2010, and the actor has been associated with stars across generations. Now, Vijayakanth extends financial support to 'Engal Aasan' director Velumani's family and handed over a cash check to the director's family through his wife Premalatha.


Director Velumani, who worked with Vijayakanth in the films 'Engal Aasan', 'Virudhagiri', and 'Sagaptham', passed away recently due to illness. Vijayakanth has decided to extend financial help to the director's family and handed over a check to Velumani's family through his party members. Meanwhile, Vijayakanth's wife Premalatha has contacted director Velumani's family members in Cuddalore over the phone and shared her condolences with the director's family members.

Vijayakanth underwent treatment at a private hospital in Chennai for the last two weeks, and he was discharged from the hospital on December 7. After returning home, Vijayakanth became active, and he was involved in the process of helping people who were affected by the Chennai floods. By helping Velumani's family, Vijayakanth has proved his kind heart once again as he takes better care of his friends and their families.



Director Velumani first collaborated with Vijayakanth to direct the actor's 'Engal Aasan' that was released in 2004. Velumani then helped Vijayakanth in the actor's directorial 'Virudhagiri' featuring him in the lead roles. Velumani then penned the dialogue for 'Sagapatham' that marked the acting debut of Vijayakanth's son Shanmuga Pandian, and the film also had the veteran actor appearing in a cameo role.
