Vijay Sethupathi opens up about his character in Silambarasan's 'Arasan'; trusts Vetri Maaran’s vision: 'I was very happy to have me in his thoughts'

Vijay Sethupathi will be acting alongside Silambarasan TR in the film 'Arasan', directed by Vetri Maaran, and the official announcement was made a few weeks back. This will be Vijay Sethupathi's third collaboration with Vetri Maaran after 'Viduthalai 1' and 'Viduthalai 2'.

Vijay Sethupathi, who recently attended an event hosted by Behindwoods TV, opened up about the film and his experience of reuniting with Vetri Maaran. He said that he is not yet fully aware of his character in the film 'Arasan', and that it is an interesting experience for him. “Vetri sir said that I comes to his mind constantly when he was writing this character and asked 'shall I continue to have u my in mind'. When I heard that, I was very happy to have me in his thoughts,” shared Vijay Sethupathi.

Talking about working with Vetri Maran again after the 'Viduthalai' series, he described the director as a great writer and a deep-thinking artist. Vijay Sethupathi said that Vetri Maaran's cinematic knowledge and approach to human emotions are unique. So, working with him is not just a film experience, it's a journey of learning about cinema as if it were life, he described. He added that in each conversation, one gains deeper insights into the nuances of storytelling, political thought, and the human psyche.

When Vijay Sethupathi said YES to Mysskin without a script

Similarly, Vijay Sethupathi also praised 'Train' director Mysskin. “You can learn from some people just by watching them and talking to them. "When you work with them, many things come to mind without you even realizing it. In that sense, Mysskin sir is an important director," he said. He expressed his belief that working with such directors will enhance an actor's intuition and depth of acting. Vijay Sethupathi openly said that he agreed to act in 'Train' without even hearing the story. “Mysskin sir asked, ‘Can I come?’ I immediately said, ‘Okay,’” he said. He then added that his actions reflect faith in the creators.
