Actor Upendra has opened up about his role in 'Coolie'. He revealed that he accepted the role only because of Rajinikanth. In a recent interview Upendra said working with Rajini sir was something he never even imagined in his dreams.“I did the role in Coolie for Rajini sir. It is something I never even dreamed. I am a big fan of him. I admire his performance, his talent, his philosophy, and even his life,” Upendra said in an interview with Galatta Plus.

Only one fight scene at first

Upendra also revealed that his role was very small in the beginning. He said he was supposed to do only one fight scene when he first agreed to the film. Later the makers changed the script and added more to his character. “Even if it was just a single shot standing close to him, I would have been happy. At first I had only one fight scene in Coolie. Later they made changes in the story,” he added.

Upendra played Kaleesha in 'Coolie'. Even with the big names and hype Lokesh Kanagaraj's film did not get a good response from all sections of the audience.Fans even said that 'Coolie' is the weakest film directed by Lokesh so far.
