Dhanush's 'Idli Kadai' to hit the big screens on April 10

Dhanush is currently working on his third directorial, 'Idli Kadai', with the film's release date confirmed for April 10, 2025, coinciding with Tamil New Year. The makers have strategically locked this date, possibly signaling a warning to other big films to avoid a box-office clash. A new poster featuring Dhanush hints at him playing the lead role of Sivanesan. While Kamal Haasan's Thug Life was originally slated for the same date, its release has now been moved to June 5, paving the way for 'Idli Kadai' to claim the April 10 slot.

Dhanush's 55th film to be directed by 'Amaran' director Rajkumar Periyasamy

Dhanush, one of the busiest actors in the South, has an exciting lineup, including a new film with director Rajkumar Periyasamy, known for his recent success with Amaran. Their collaboration has been officially announced with a tentative title, 'D55', and the film's launch was marked with a muhurat puja on November 8. 'Amaran' faces backlash from Muslim association

Sivakarthikeyan's 'Amaran', released on October 31 for Diwali, has been performing well at the box office but is surrounded by controversy due to alleged defamatory remarks about Muslims. In response to protests, police protection has been provided to theaters screening the film across Tamil Nadu to ensure peace. Muslim associations have called for a ban, accusing the film of fueling anti-Muslim sentiments, with A.K. Kareem of SDPI alleging it promotes hatred. The film also faced opposition from Hindu groups earlier for downplaying Major Mukund Varadharajan's community.

Delhi Ganesh passes away at 80

Veteran Tamil actor Delhi Ganesh, celebrated for his versatility, passed away at age 80 in Chennai due to age-related ailments. He took his final breath at his home in Ramapuram. Delhi Ganesh's son Mahadevan Ganesh, shared the news on social media, noting that Delhi Ganesh passed around 11 pm on November 9, 2024. Several celebrities paid their condolences to the veteran actor through their social media message, while many attended the senior actor's funeral to pay their last respect.
