Tamil films that have cliff hanging climax!

Most of the Kollywood movies though have open endings that let the audience think of their own climax and choose the end of a story, it is not very common to have films with cliffhanging climax until unless there is a sure promise of a sequel in plan. Here are a few Tamil films that have a cliffhanging ending!

Directed by Shankar, 'Enthiran' and 'Robot 2.0' are sci-fi films and though it does not have a completely conventional cliff hanging climax, the movie leaves possibility for its sequel, and it has the chance to explore and expand.

Directed by Gautham Menon, the film stars in the lead role. The movie is a crime thriller which ends on a tense note, leaving the fate of the protagonist uncertain. While there hasn't been a direct sequel, there have been discussions about continuing the story. In 2023, Gautham Vasudev Menon revealed that the story for the sequel is ready and the works for it can start when Kamal Haasan gives a nod.

Directed by Kamal Haasan, 'Vishwaroopam' and 'Vishwaroopam 2' are espionage thrillers with complex narratives. The first film ends with a surprising twist, setting the stage for the sequel for a third part, which further explores the protagonist's past and motivation to be a spy.

'Irumbu Thirai' is a cybercrime thriller starring Vishal and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles and it revolves around data theft and cyber warfare. The movie ends with a shocking revelation about the antagonist played by Regina Cassandra, setting up the possibility of a sequel.
