Simran gets nostalgic as 'Vaalee' completes 25 years

Actor Ajith's blockbuster film, Vaalee, directed by SJ Suryah, which hit the screens on 30 April, 1999 has completed 25 years today. Actress Simran, who played the female lead in the film felt nostalgic and penned a heartfelt note on her social networking page.

Sharing a poster of the film, Simran wrote, "Indebted for the love and nostalgia #Vaalee evokes. I'm grateful to have been a part of its enduring legacy ♥�� #25YearsForVaalee @iam_SJSuryah"


In the film Ajith played dual roles as twin brothers. The film is about how a speech and hearing impaired man Deva(Ajith), who heads an advertising company, lusts after Priya (Simran), his twin brother Shiva's wife. When the latter discovers it, their relationship falls apart.

The film, which was directed by SJ Suryah, turned the tables for Ajith, who gave a stellar performance in this one. ‘Vaalee’ became a runaway hit at the box office and the songs composed by Deva were a trendsetter back then.
