Commenting on 'Jai Bhim' exclusion, actor Prakash Raj wrote, "the ones who support the murder of our Mahatma.. the ones who want to change Babasahebs Constitution.. Will they CELEBRATE #JaiBhim ??? #justasking". His social media post has stirred up controversy, and it made fans think about the politics behind 'Jai Bhim'. It is worth mentioning that Prakash Raj also played an important role as a cop in 'Jai Bhim'.

After extending wishes for the winners of the 69th National Film Awards, cinematographer PC Sreeram asked the organizers the reason why no award was presented for 'Jai Bhim'. Even though PC Sreeram hasn't worked with Suriya, he voiced his concern for 'Jai Bhim', as like many he too believed that the film deserved appreciation.
