'Jailer' box office collection day 17: Rajinikanth starrer continues to shatter records

Rajinikanth's recent outing 'Jailer' has been minting miraculous numbers since day 1, and the film is having a solid occupancy in its third week. The action entertainer has held its screens for the third weekend, and the film's occupancy also sees a peak during the weekends. Rajinikanth's film has reportedly grossed over Rs 540 crores worldwide. In Kerala, 'Jailer' has surpassed the 50 crore mark to become the first ever Tamil film to achieve the feat.
The film's overseas collection is said to be over Rs 230 crores. In Tamil Nadu, 'Jailer' has been inching close to reaching the 150 crore mark, and the film continues to head strongly in the home state. The collection of 'Jailer' in north of India looks weak, and once again a film from Tamil failed to impress the Hindi audience. However, Rajinikanth's film with Nelson has become the actor's highest-grossing film in several locations, while it stands the actor's second when we compare the overall collection with the box office collection of the science fiction action drama '2.0'.
Directed by Nelson, 'Jailer' features Rajinikanth as a retired cop, and the action drama is well-packed with mass and fanatic moments. Vinayakan, Yogi Babu, and Vasanth Ravi have delivered the best, while the short appearances of Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, and Jackie Shroff have lit up the fire. Anirudh Ravichander's background score elevated the action drama to a great extent, while the amazing frames captured by Vijay Kartik Kannan look classy.
On August 25, 'Jailer' makers officially confirmed the film's box office gross of over Rs 525 crores worldwide and announced it with a new poster featuring Rajinikanth. The lifetime collection of 'Jailer' is expected to be higher than the predicted numbers for sure as the film is having a strong hold in its third week.
