'Parasakthi': Is Sivakarthikeyan - Sreeleela starrer a BIOPIC after 'Amaran'? Netizens spot THESE Easter eggs in promotional video
With Sivakarthikeyan's film 'Parasakthi' directed by Sudha Kongara just a few weeks away from release, various speculations and discussions surrounding its plot are rapidly spreading on the internet. Initially, the film was said to be a period political-action drama centered on the 1965 anti-Hindi protests in Tamil Nadu. A short announcement video that has now been released further reinforces those speculations. The video is created using photographs from the 1965 protests to take viewers directly back in time.

Mystery student in promo video sparks theories
In the video, a photo of a young student appears in the blink of an eye between scenes of protest. Many people who noticed this on social media have identified the person as Rajendran, who studied at Annamalai University. As per Cinema Express, Rajendran is one of the students who died in the 1965 anti-Hindi protests. Following this, the film ‘Parasakthi’ chronicled Rajendran’s life; there is a widespread belief that it may have been formed around the protest movements led by him. If the claim turns true, then it will be another film based on a true story for Sivakarthikeyan after the mega-blockbuster 'Amaran', which narrated the story of late Major Mukund Varadharajan. However, the film crew has not yet given any official confirmation regarding this.Who is Rajendran?
According to historical records, Rajendran, a native of the Kallal area of Sivaganga district, was studying for his B.Sc. at Annamalai University. He was killed in police firing on the university campus while participating in the protests in 1965. It is said that due to the tense situation prevailing across Tamil Nadu at that time, his funeral was held in Parangipettai rather than in his hometown. Based on such true events, expectations have grown that 'Parasakthi' could be a story that reflects an individual's sacrifice, political awareness, and social change.A powerful political and emotional drama
At the same time, it has been reported that a grand set replicating the 1960s is being erected to allow the public to enter the world of the film. The set is said to feature items that reflect the political climate, struggles, and daily life of the time. Fans believe that the film's story will not just be a retelling of historical events, but will be developed with concepts that are relevant to today's generation. With this, expectations are increasing day by day that ‘Parasakthi’ will be an emotional and impactful film with a strong political backdrop.Get an chance to win ₹5000 Amazon Voucher by taking part in India's Biggest Habit Index!
