'Muthu' vs. 'Aalavandhan': Rajinikanth's film dominates Kamal Haasan's starrer as both the classics re-release

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are the two leading heroes of Tamil cinema, and they are considered box office rivals by fans. Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth have a clash at the box office after 18 years as their respective films 'Aalavandhan' and 'Muthu' have been re-released in theaters today (Dec 8). But Rajinikanth fans have proved that their actor is the box office king, as the actor's film is completely sold out. Whereas, Kamal Haasan's 'Aalavandhan' struggles to get decent occupancy on its re-release day despite the intense promotion from the makers. So, the box office dominance of Rajinikanth's film over Kamal Haasan's film continues.


However, both films are expected to get solid occupancy during the weekends, and both are predicted to give the expected numbers at the box office.

Directed by KS Ravikumar, 'Muthu' is a rural entertainer, and the film features Rajinikanth and Meena in the lead roles. 'Muthu' was initially released in theaters in 1995, and the film clashed with Kamal Haasan's 'Kuruthi Punal' during the initial release. Rajinikanth's film dominated Kamal Haasan's film at the box office during the initial release as well.



Directed by Suresh Krissna, 'Aalavandhan' features Kamal Haasan in a dual role, and the film is about a clash between twin brothers.' Aalavandhan's makers have given the film a grand re-release, and the film has been released on over 1000 screens.
