The
Madras High Court on Wednesday dismissed a case filed against Vishal-starrer ‘Irumbu Thirai’ seeking to stall the release of the film. According to reports, a petitioner named
Natarajan filed a case against the film for portraying the Aadhaar Card scheme in a bad light.
However, the Madras High Court dismissed the case, citing that the CBFC had already cleared ‘Irumbu Thirai’ without any objections.
On the other hand, reports said that a group of distributors were forcing theatre owners to not allocate screens to ‘Irumbu Thirai’. Amidst all the issues, the Vishal-starrer is all set to hit the screens this Friday. Earlier today, the makers organised a special screening of ‘Irumbu Thirai’ in Chennai, where the first half was shown to the media.
Reported to be a cyber-crime thriller, the film stars
Vishal and
Samantha Akkineni in the lead, while Arjun Sarja, Delhi Ganesh and
Robo Shankar will be seen in important roles.
Directed by debutant PS Mithran, the film has music by
Yuvan Shankar Raja. ‘Irumbu Thirai’ is being dubbed in Telugu as ‘Abhimanyudu’.
