Madhoo to Shobana: Yesteryear Tamil actresses aging like fine wine

Apart from the superstar actors in Tamil Nadu, the film industry is known for the powerful, talented and strong female actresses. The yesteryear actresses in Kollywood ruled the screens with their acting style and they are still the golden finds of the industry. While the term 90's life and 90's cinema has been trending all along, these actresses made sure they contributed the best of it ; probably even unknowingly. Kaniha made her debut in the film industry with the film 'Five Star' in Tamil in 2002. She has predominantly worked in Tamil and Malayalam. Kaniha is also a classical singer. She has acted in only a handful of films but most of her roles are very memorable and she is a successful artist.

Madhoo was born in 1969 and the actress made her debut in 1991 with Tamil film 'Azhagan' alongside Mamootty. She often appears in Tamil and Telugu films. The actress gained her fame after her role in 'Roja' and 'Gentleman'. The actress has been in the field for three decades now and was last seen in the film 'Shakuntalam'. She is also all set to make her digital debut with the series 'Sweet Karam Coffee' this year.

Khushbu made her debut as a child artist in the film industry. She has acted in more than 200 films and has won many State Film Awards and Filmfare awards. Khushbu apart from flourishing a career in the movie industry has also been part of many television shows and hosted the very popular quiz show Jackpot. The actress recently made headlines after she focussed on health and fitness and managed to reduce a lot of weight.

Revathi was born in 1966 and actress predominantly works in the Tamil film industry. She made her acting debut in 1983. Revathi is a well known figure and she has acted in more than 400 films and has been part of multiple soap operas and television projects. The actress gained her fame after 'Pudhumai Penn' and 'Kizhakku Vaasal'. She is well known for choosing female centric scripts.

Shobana made her debut with the film industry in 1984. She predominantly acted in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi industry. Shobana is one of the beautiful actresses of Kollywood and she has acted in more than 500 films in all languages together. Shobana gained her fame in Tamil industry after her role in 'Thalapathi'. She is also a classical dancer.
