For actress Lakshmi, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (VTV) happened quite by chance. ���������Gautham Vasudev Menon was looking for a Malayali to play the role of Trisha���������s mom,��������� begins Lakshmi, ���������Manoj Paramahamsa, the cameraman of VTV, referred my name to Gautham.
He knew me because I had worked in Eeram with him.Then, I met Gautham on the sets. After a quick audition, he asked me if I had the dates to work with him. I was thrilled beyond words and accepted the offer immediately.���������
She continues, ���������That evening, Manoj called me and said that I would appear in just a few scenes because the mother���������s role wasn���������t big. Gautham had insisted that Manoj tell me in advance about the length of my character. It was extremely nice on Gautham���������s part. I was so touched by his down-to-earth nature. In spite of knowing that I wouldn���������t appear on screen for long, I signed on the dotted line. It was a dream team ��������� Gautham, A R Rahman, Manoj, Simbu and Trisha ��������� and I didn���������t want to miss the opportunity.���������
Ask Lakshmi how the response has been so far and she muses, ���������I loved myself in the scenes I have appeared. I don���������t have the typical Malayali Christian looks, but I���������m happy I could pull it off.���������
So, what next? ���������I���������m all set to direct a film that���������s based on a real life incident,��������� she gushes, ���������I have my story registered and I���������m now finalising the cast and crew. I want the best in my team. So, I���������m taking my own sweet time. Three friends become victims of a bomb blast and how they piece their lives post the blast forms the rest of the story. I���������m taking all efforts to release the film by the end of this year.���������
