Karthik Subbaraj is now directing his film 'Jigarthanda Double X' with Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah. The film is a sequel to the 2016 blockbuster movie 'Jigarthanda'. The movie has huge anticipation, and speaking about it in a recent interview with a regional media outlet, Karthik Subbaraj reportedly said that he wants to make 'Jigarthanda' a franchise film that revolves around the concept of crime and art mixed together.
He added that it is an idea of two different worlds coming together and how they influence each other with different stories.

Karthik Subbaraj said that even 20 years down the line, the movie's franchise can go on with other directors shooting it under the crux of crime and art. The director, also opening about his film 'Jigarthanda Double X', said that he is focusing on his movie to be like a metafilm, which is a movie about making films.
He reportedly said that he wanted to make his film a franchise and a genre in itself. He said that though there will be no connection with 'Jigarthanda', 'Jigarthanda Double X' is a film with gangsters and philosophy.
