Jana Nayagan: Thalapathy Vijay's new look from the film shows similarities to legendary actor and former Tamil Nadu CM MGR
The makers of the Thalapathy Vijay starrer 'Jana Nayagan' unveiled a second poster yesterday (January 26), shortly after revealing the film’s official title and first-look poster. This latest poster has heightened anticipation among fans, providing another glimpse into the movie’s essence.
The first-look title poster crowned him as the 'Jana Nayagan' (People’s Hero or Leader of the Masses). Adding to the intrigue, the newly unveiled poster channels the magnetic appeal of the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and cinematic legend, MG Ramachandran (MGR).

The poster captivates with Vijay at its centre, framed against a vibrant red background. His broad smile and a whip flicking through the air add a commanding aura, accentuated by the phrase “Naan Aanaiyitaal” (If I Order). This phrase is a tribute to the iconic song from MGR’s 1965 film Enga Veettu Pillai, where the whip is a symbol of authority and defiance, turning a weapon of control into a mark of leadership.
'Jana Nayagan' is of particular significance as it marks Vijay’s final cinematic outing before venturing into active politics in Tamil Nadu. The visuals, steeped in the red hues of revolution, strongly hint at his political aspirations. By aligning his image with that of MGR—a towering figure in Tamil cinema and politics—Vijay’s messaging appears deliberate and strategic, pointing towards his envisioned role on the political stage.
Directed by H Vinoth, 'Jana Nayagan' boasts a stellar cast, including Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani. The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
On the other hand, Vijay was last seen in Venkat Prabhu's 'GOAT'.
