Actor KPY Bala’s latest film, 'Gandhi Kannadi,' directed by Sheriff, hit the theaters on Sept 5. The movie, which features
Balaji Sakthivel, Archana, and
Namita Krishnamurthy alongside Bala, has music composed by Vivek-Mervin. The film opened to a positive response from audiences, and to mark the release, the team, along with actor-director Raghava Lawrence, watched the film with fans. Not just for films, both
Bala and
Raghava Lawrence have often been associated with various social welfare activities, making their presence at the event even more special.
Raghava Lawrence praises KPY Bala
After the screening, Raghava Lawrence praised Bala, saying, “When Bala laughs, people laugh. When Bala cries, the audience cries. And when he fights, people cheer. That’s why the audience themselves have made him a hero. In the future, Bala will grow into a big star.” His statement not only highlighted Bala’s on-screen connection with fans but also served as strong encouragement for Bala’s journey as a lead actor.
Bala opens up on the challenges of being a big-screen actor
However, KPY Bala opened up about the challenges faced just before the release of the film. He revealed that during the final three days leading up to the release, the team struggled immensely. He said, “They didn’t allow us to put up posters or banners in theaters. Because of that, people assumed the film wasn’t released and went back. It was very disheartening.” His words reflected the frustration and emotional turmoil of an actor trying to ensure his film reached the audience.
KPY Bala dismisses rumors on his philanthropic work
Later, addressing criticism that others were funding his philanthropic work, KPY Bala firmly clarified, “I work hard day and night to earn. Whatever I have done so far has been from my own money; not even a single rupee has come from anyone else. Helping others is not charity for me—it’s my duty. I will continue to do it without taking money from others. To those who criticize, the people are my answer," said Bala. Bala's strong stance underscored both his dedication to his profession and his integrity in community service, and he received praise from fans who see him as an actor and an inspiration.
