Ganesh Venkatram, who plays the role of a mafia don who is addicted to cocaine in the Guns of Banaras, the Hindi remake of Vetrimaran���s hit film Polladhavan, has returned to the city to join the team of Thani Oruvan, featuring Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara in the lead.
Says Ganesh, ���We have wrapped up the work on the Hindi remake of Polladhavan, in which I play the role essayed by Daniel Balaji in the original.

Director Shekkhar Suri has tweaked the story to present it as taking place in Banaras. While Karan Nath plays Dhanush���s role in the Hindi version, Taapsee���s role is played by Nathalie Kaur.���
The actor, who sports a new rugged look for the film, says he had to go to Benaras almost 20 days ago to pick up expletives. ���Although I speak good Hindi, I had to go to Benaras to learn the local slang and in particular, the expletives used in the region. It was fun,��� says the actor, who is now busy shooting for Thani Oruvan, which he says is a layered film.
���Almost 70 per cent of the film is done. We are at present shooting in Vandalur in the city. Now that we are finishing the schedules in India, the foreign schedules are on the cards,��� he signs off.
