Indie singer Gana Dinesh has accused the makers of Ken Karunaas ’s Youth of using his song, Naan Aasai Patta Ponnu Peru Monisha , in the film without seeking his permission. Addressing the press, he claimed that this is a blow to his identity as an artiste.
“Ken has sung my song without asking my permission. This has deeply hurt me. You’ve stolen my song and taken away my identity. Even if they had kept the song as it is, I’d have been happy,” he said and added, “But Ken has sung the song in the film. So now it comes across as if he were the one who sang the song. I don’t know why you’ve stolen my song. I’m not able to sleep at night.”
Dinesh further shared, “I don’t even want money from it. You have to remove the song; otherwise, you’ll have to do everything for us. My name should be mentioned in the film. Ken is himself a singer. He should know we shouldn’t sing another singer’s song without taking permission.”
