The Tamil film 'Maharaja' was released in theaters on June 14, and the film grossed more than Rs 100 crore at the box office. Apart from Tamil Nadu, the movie did a wonderful business in Kerala, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. Now, following the blockbuster success, the film is said to be remade in Hindi.
Directed by
Nithilan Swaminathan, the film marks the 50th project of actor
Vijay Sethupathi, and the rest of the cast included Natty Nataraj, Anurag Kashyap, and Mamta Mohandas, among others. The film was made with a budget of Rs 20 crore, and Pinkvilla reported that the actor stepped away from charging any remuneration for the film to avoid any further expenses on the budget and is said to have taken part of the profits that the film earned at the box office.
On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi is awaiting the release of his film 'Viduthalai 2' directed by Vetrimaaran. The shooting has been wrapped up, and it is currently in post-production. It is likely to be released by the end of the year. Following this, the actor has 'Gandhi Talks', 'Ace', 'Train', and 'RC 16' in the pipeline, which are in different stages of production.
