‘Amaidhipadai’: Sathyaraj starrer set for a grand 4K re-release - Reports

‘Amaidhipadai’ is a 1994 film by the director Manivannan and hailed as one of the best political satires in Tamil cinema. Sathyaraj had acted in a double role in the movie along with Ranjitha, Kasthuri, Kuyili, among others. The dialogues are viral even to this day and age. Reportedly, the film is now set to be re-released after 32 years.As per The Hindu, 'Amaidhipadai' will be re-released after being restored in the 4K resolution and Dolby sound. Additionally, the film will be launched across five states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, and Karnataka.The film shows power, greed, and politics with Sathyaraj’s character as Amavasai is still etched brilliantly into the minds of the audiences and loyal fan bases alike. It is a classic role of political cunning. The dialogues and the scenes are all still very much relevant.
