After Sivakarthikeyan, Kalyani to pair up with STR

Only recently, Kalyani Priyadarshan was signed on to play the female lead opposite Sivakarthikeyan in 'Hero', which is being directed by PS Mithran (of 'Irumbuthirai' fame). Now, she has been roped in to play STR's love interest in Venkat Prabhu's 'Maanaadu'. With this, the young actress has become the most-wanted among newcomers in Kollywood.
While Kalyani, the daughter of senior director Priyadarshan and Lissy, made her movie debut with the Telugu film 'Hello', in 2017, she is all set to make her debut in Mollywood with 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham', the Mohanlal-led multi-starrer which is directed by her dad.Meanwhile, in Tamil, in addition to 'Hero' and 'Maanaadu', she is also part of Dulquer Salmaan's 'Vaan', in which she will be one of the female leads.
A few days ago, there were rumours that 'Maanaadu' is being dropped, but the film's producer Suresh Kamatchi denied those and mentioned that the film is in its pre-production stage. With this announcement, it is clear that the film, a political thriller, is back on track. Shooting is expected to start in late April or early May.
