Adithya Varma actress Banita Sandhu tested positive for COVID-19 while shooting in Kolkata. The UK-based actress had come down to India from the UK for shooting for 'Kavita & Teresa'. She had travelled with a youth who had tested positive for the mutant coronavirus strain on his return from the United Kingdom.
Reports suggested that she refused to get admitted in a government hospital as it lacked infrastructure.

After several attempts, Banita was eventually admitted in a private hospital. They have taken sample to check whether she has been infected with the mutant coronavirus strain. The actress tested positive for the virus on Monday afternoon.
On the workfront, Banita will be seen playing one of the leads in Kamal Musale's 'Kavita & Teresa'. The film is about love and compassion, which is inspired by the life of Mother Teresa. The film also has Jacqueline Fritschi-Cornaz and Deepti Naval. Banita made her acting debut in 'October' opposite Varun Dhwan. She later made Tamil debut in 'Adithya Varma', the Tamil remake of 'Arjun Reddy'. The actress played the female lead in this film which had Dhruv Vikram as the lead, and was appreciated for her performance in the film.
