A legal case has been lodged against actress
Swasika and two other film industry figures,
Beena Antony and her husband Manoj, following a complaint by an actress from Aluva. According to a report from Indiaglitz Tamil, the complaint alleges that remarks made by the accused during an appearance on a YouTube channel were derogatory, insulting to womanhood, and violated the modesty of women. The comments in question were allegedly made as a response to accusations and criticisms against the actors. According to the filing, Beena Antony has been named as the first accused, her husband
Manoj as the second accused, and Swasika as the third.
The issue emerged after the complainant, who recently accused several prominent figures in the Malayalam film industry of sexual misconduct, filed her complaint. Her allegations followed the release of the
Hema Committee report, which addresses issues within the Malayalam film industry. Among those accused were well-known figures such as Edavela Babu, Mukesh, Maniyanpilla Raju, Jayasurya, Jaffer Idukki, and Balachandra Menon. In a related incident,
Balachandra Menon countered by filing a complaint against the actress from Aluva, claiming that she attempted to blackmail him and made defamatory remarks about him on YouTube. Additionally, a relative of the complainant has filed a POCSO case against her.
Swasika was recently seen on the big screens in 'Lubber Pandhu' and she paired up with Dinesh in the rural cricket drama. Swasika delivered an impressive role to grab the audience's attention through her Tamil comeback after six years. 'Lubber Pandhu' is running successfully in cinema in its fourth week, and the film is gearing up for a digital release.
