SHE may not have an impressive line-up of work back in B-town, but Tulip Joshi definitely made the cut when it came to namma Uppi dada’s movie, christened Super by the audience. While the actor has been closely guarding the details of the project, whether it’s the cast or script - nobody can even enter the sets without prior permission - we found out that the latest entrant to the project is Bollywood starlet Tulip Joshi.“Upendra is a dear friend and we’ve been discussing doing a film together for a while.
This project is just an extension of our friendship. So, when Uppi called and asked me if I’d be interested in doing a role in his movie, I said, ‘Wow, for sure’,” says Tulip.
Describing the actor as a ‘lovely person’, she adds that being in the same profession, they are aware of each other’s work. “So yes, I’ve heard of and watched some of
Upendra’s earlier work.”
As is the current trend, Tulip also says, “I can’t talk much about my role”. She adds, though, that Uppi’s given her a great role. “I’ve already shot for it a few days ago. He’s so good as a director and doesn’t give up until he gets what he wants. I’ve noticed that even as an actor, he’s very hard-working. Upendra’s screen presence too, is powerful,” she says.
Tulip recollects that she heard the word sari numerous times on the sets. “I know it means right, so I must’ve done a decent job,” she laughs. The actress also shared warm vibes with the film’s leading lady, Nayanthara. “Nayanthara has a great personality. We had a good time shooting together,” says Tulip.
Yella okay, but why don’t we see more of her in B-town? “I’m happy doing one Hindi and one regional film every year. I’m not here for a limited period,” she signs off.
