Manav Gohil, after his successful appearances on television, is now busy doing different things in life, and he says that "it is important to diversify." Manav, who was in hometown Vadodara to attend his sister's wedding, has just started his own company.
Currently, he is also doing a Gujarati film and is very excited about it. He says, "It's a very contemporary story and we shot parts of it in Saputara, which was great fun.
It's a challenging role and I play a 50 year old husband to Swaroop Sampat. Just watch out, it is going to be very different from the run-of-the-mill Gujarati movies."
Reflecting on his journey as an actor, the marketing executive turned actor says, "A series of accidents led me to television." He adds with a smile, "I guess the best thing that happened thanks to TV was meeting Shweta (Kawaatra) and marrying her! She has always been very supportive and that helped me to grow as an actor. My struggle began in my early teens and my dad always told me to work hard to earn my living. I knew that cribbing about failures will only push me back and didn't get disheartened by things like failed screen tests. I was determined to become a good actor." he shares.
Talking about the difference between working in films and television, he says, "While it offers quick bucks, there's little room for creative inputs on TV. That way, films are better. Doing theatre helps one in becoming a fine actor. It's good to see that slowly, makers of TV shows are going back to old, trusted faces. It will help as far as quality is concerned."
