Krishna falls in love... again
The on-screen Krishna may not have found success in his love story, but the film, Krishnan Love Story (KLS), has scored well at the box office.
And buoyed by its success, director Shashank is all set to direct the film’s sequel. Titled Krishnan Love Story 2 (KLS2), the director is already working on the screenplay and hopes to go on the floors in three months.

“We just returned from touring various centres in Karnataka. KLS has been declared a hit. Since the climax ended on a tragic note, and the hero didn’t get the heroine, they want another film that ends on a positive note,” says Shashank.
And that’s how he thought of making a sequel. “While the first film was a real-life story, and had the tagline, ‘75 per cent truth, 25 per cent cinema’, KLS2 will have the punch line, ‘100 per cent cinema’. This time, it won’t be a real-life story. We’ll give viewers what they wish to see — a happy ending with a realistic narration,” explains Shashank.
The characters, though, will remain. “Ajay Rao will be the hero again, and will also retain his bike, Ombe Gowdru, which has also become a popular character. Ajay’s friends’ circle will also be the same. Of course, the heroine will change,” he says.
In Sandalwood, not many sequels have been made in recent times except for Jogayya. “I’m working with the same team of technicians. This time, we’re sure of making Krishna’s love story a success,” says Shashank.
